Breathing new life into old volumes, Karina and Barbara add to the corpus of work in 2015 with an epilogue. We've heard stories- about people who have grown moss using a moss paint recipe. And watched the plot unfold on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFO5LRkVH3A Checking in with Annette Hegel, one of this years guest artists at Fieldwork (and former studio mate), we asked for her moss paint recipe 'tried and true'. As follows, for anyone else out there who longs to try it: my tried and true recipe: 2 cups of broken up moss, 2 cups buttermilk, 1/2 teaspoon sugar, 2 cups of beer (unfiltered works better) it is really important that you wash all the earth out of the moss before you put it all in a blender sometimes you might need to add a bit of corn syrup for consistency, you want a brushable viscosity - don't spray it, that damages the moss too much look around the site and see if there's moss growing there, "resident" moss is always the best to use ...and FYI: black flies are REALLY bad as soon as you get off the FIELD We look forward to the beer part of the recipe, but the black flies? Not so much..... |

An homage to the book was performed at the beginning of the dark months, with poetry by Laurie Koenesgen, Wendy Brandts, and Lise Rochefort. Poets and audience retired to the Fall River Restaurant for post-poetry libations.
